Adoption in NJ - Is It Better In NJ?

The agency (Golden Cradle) is legally responsible for taking the surrenders of the child no sooner then 72 hours after the birth.  Once these surrenders are signed they are executed legal documents and the only grounds for turning them aside are fraud, duress or misrepresentation by the agency. With your adoption in NJ, unlike in some surrounding states, the surrender is valid immediately at the time of signing.  It is not an "intent to surrender" nor does it need to be further affirmed by the court. It is the actual surrender.
