     Golden Cradle is a nonprofit, licensed child-placing agency. We follow New Jersey law. Most important, you need to know that you cannot sign papers allowing your baby to be adopted in New Jersey before 72 hours after the baby is born.

     The rights of the father of the child are equal to those of the mother. We prefer to have the baby's father involved in the adoption plan as much as possible. However, we do understand that sometimes this is not possible. The law takes that into consideration. We can help you understand the laws and your rights.

     All appropriate legal expenses associated with the adoption process will be paid by Golden Cradle.

     After the baby is born, you can choose direct placement of your child with the adopting family or choose temporary Cradle Care with a Golden Cradle approved family who will provide short term infant care only for our agency, until you decide what's best.

After-Adoption Services

     Our services do not end once your child is born and has joined his or her adoptive family. We are here to help you, even if you just need someone to talk to. We understand that birth parents and families grieve their losses and never stop loving the child who is adopted. We are here to help you through the grieving process.
