One way we have made the adoption process more responsive is to encourage families to start the education program at any time. They do not have to wait for the start of the next full cycle of classes. The three class education series has been redesigned to make it possible for people to join the course at any point in cycle.

     Psychological tests are no longer a requirement, and the home study process, the educational classes, and profile creation can all take place concurrently if a family wishes. Many families like to take on all these tasks concurrently in order to be ready to accept placement of a child more quickly.

     Families who have adopted from Golden Cardle in the past no longer have to wait two or more years before reapplying for a second (or third) child. The time period today is simply defined by the families’ readiness to start the adoption process again. It can be measured in months or years, as the family wishes.

     The range of programs available at Golden Cradle today is broader than ever before. Families who wish to adopt can choose from two domestic programs and our international program. They can start the adoption process before they have determined which program they prefer, and as they become more familiar with their options they can choose the program that best fits their needs.
